History of the Disciples Escoffier

The Disciples d’Auguste Escoffier was created in 1954 by Jean Ducroux, a chef from Nice, France and President of the Fraternelle des Cuisiniers. Within this association he organized a contest – the Grand Prix Auguste Escoffier.
The first chapter was created in 1960 with Eugene Herbodeau as its President. Herbodeau worked with Auguste Escoffier and wrote a book about him. Eighty Disciples d’Auguste Escoffier were initially inducted .

Welcome to our website

In 2007 at Villeneuve Loubet in France, (Mr Escoffier’s birth place), the Disciples International Committee chose the Association Culinaire Française, (created by Mr Escoffier and Mr Fetu in 1903), to represent the Disciples in the UK.

Our organisation works hard to strengthen and preserve the social fabric of our culinary community, be they a Chef directing a kitchen, Employee in the hospitality industry out of the kitchen, Person who have strong interest in the entire angle of gastronomy, Person who produce and/or sale any kind of high quality food, beverage or wine, or Promising junior chef who have demonstrated a strong interest in French or International cuisine, by keeping within their actions and the thoughts the spirit of our great master, a man of great generosity, deeply altruistic, without forgetting the subtle and indispensable note ‘of a man who respects humankind’

The Association Culinaire Francaise de Secours Mutuel was established by Emile Fetu & Georges Auguste Escoffier in 1932 following the merge of the Club Culinaire c1845 and the Société Culinaire Française founded by Escoffier with Chef Emile Fetu in 1903
